History: The ancient Egyptian civilization lasted for more than 3000 years, longer than any other civilisation in human history.Egyptians believed that there was a life after death and that a dead person’s body should be preserved and buried in a tomb with everything he would need in the life after death. Egyptians were ruled by kings, and queens, who were believed to be Gods. Many of them built temples to commemorate the important events of their reigns.
Music: The modern music of Egypt is considered Arabic music as it has been a source for or influence on other regional styles. The tonal structure of Arabic music is defined by the maqamat, loosely similar to Western modes, while the rhythm of Arabic music is governed by the iqa'at, standard rhythmic modes formed by combinations of accented and unaccented beats and rests.

Fun Facts:Toilets were found in many ancient Egyptian Tombs, the world’s oldest dress was found in Egypt and it is 5,000 years old. Written language was invented independently by the Egyptians as well as the Sumerians, Chinese, and Mayans. In ancient Egypt, killing a cat, even accidentally, incurred the death penalty.
Morocco
History: Morocco Has Been Inhabited for Over 90,000 Years. Morocco is the largest processor and exporter of sardines in the world. Morocco is only 8 miles (13 km) from Europe, across the Strait of Gibraltar.
Music: Morocco has a rich musical culture with flavors of Berber, Spanish, Arabic, and Saharan influences.

South Africa
History: In 1806, wars in Europe left the British in control of the Cape Town colony. In 1910, the British united four colonies in the region and created South Africa. They established laws that separated whites from black South Africans, a practice of segregation called apartheid, which led to decades of conflict. In 1963, Nelson Mandela, head of the anti-apartheid African National Congress, was given a life sentence in jail for "terrorist" activities. In 1990, after 27 years behind bars, he was freed by President F.W. de Klerk. In 1994, Mandela was elected president of South Africa.
Music:The country has a rich musical heritage that includes both popular and folk forms, encompassing genres such as jazz, blues, gospel, rock, pop, reggae, hip hop, kwaito and more.

For many years, Highlife was the preferred music genre until the introduction of Hiplife and many others.
